Mind Fuck by Manna Francis Releases

Well, the big day is finally upon us, and Manna Francis’ Mind Fuck, which I’ve wanted to see in print ever since I first read it almost seven years ago, is now available from our website (and should become available from the usual online retailers within he next few days).

It’s a great dystopian murder mystery with sci-fi overtones and should appeal to anyone who likes the genre. My Dad, who introduced me to Heinlein, Sturgeon, and Bester at an early age and is responsible for my lifelong love of science fiction, just called to say he’d finished reading his advance copy and that he was enthralled and loved the book, and that it should be a bestseller. (And he didn’t complain about or comment on the presence of gay sex, much to my relief… Of course, now that he’s reading this, he’s probably going to call back just to see me squirm…)

Rather than reproducing the book blurb here, I want to share what Chris Owen has to say about this one:

Manna Francis’ Mind Fuck begins to tell the story of a dystopian world, full of charming sociopaths and shiny tech. With characters that are deeply flawed, living in a system that is both terrifying and oddly compelling, the first book in the Administration series absolutely captivates the reader’s attention.

Toreth investigates murders on behalf of the Administration, using sanctioned torture to get the answers he needs. Figuring out Warrick is harder than finding motives for murder, however, and a great deal more intriguing. The two men are worlds apart, in almost every way, yet they are irresistibly drawn together.

With wonderful storytelling, fascinating characters, and a world that’s frighteningly like what ours could be, Mind Fuck is a clear winner.
